The Mission of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League
is to assist each woman in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with
the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.
As soon as Lutheran women arrived in this country, they began to use their gifts to sew altar paraments, care for orphans and the needy, and support hospitals. Even then, women were in
mission using their gifts and abilities to serve God and His people.
In 1942, the formation of a
national LWML was encourage by our synod. The
motto "Serve the Lord with Gladness" was adopted. It's first mission
project was for Christ Church for the Deal in Cleveland, Ohio, in the amount
of $15,000. One of the most important lessons to be learned from these early
LWML members was their continued reliance on God for guidance and their
commitment to spreading God's love in their serving.
Nationally, we gather through our "mite boxes", our free will offerings
given from out loving hands and grateful hearts. This is our response to God
who reached out to us with the gift of grace through Jesus Christ.
From Trinity,
100% of these mites are sent quarterly to the
Michigan District LWML office,
75% of these mites stay in the Michigan District for mission projects and
25% are sent Internationally for those mission projects. Click

a Book Display featuring religious cards and materials just to name a few.
